Why have teams?

  1. Skills - Each team member can bring a different set of skills, a different context, and perspective.
  2. Throughput - getting more done.
    1. Cognitive limits – No one person can hold all the context.
    2. Throughput limits – More humans = more output.
    3. Coordination limits – Work must be decomposed and recombined.
