< Return to Office (or) Agent

The push to Return to Office (RTO) has one important downside.

After investing so much in remote work during the pandemic, some (many? most?) companies have wound it back[1]. The most commonly cited reasons I see are collaboration, trust, and knowledge sharing.

There is a dramatic increase in the power of AI agents. These agents are not in the office. They are virtual, and they could easily benefit from systems and processes that are remote-first.

If you are foreseeing a future where AI agents are part of your workforce, it is important to recognize that this is inherently a remote or hybrid setup.
